Bio
For as long as I can remember, I have had a passion for counseling and healing from brokenness. Fifteen years ago, I founded Cross Keys Equine Therapy and have been the Executive Director and one of the equine professionals that walks alongside clients on their journeys toward healing and growth. After seeing counseling from the sidelines and much prompting from the Lord, I decided to return to school to obtain a Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Liberty University. I am excited to join Journey Counseling Ministries as a practicum and internship student.
The experiences I have had deeply shaped my understanding of the importance of relationship, presence, and creating spaces where people feel safe enough to be seen, heard, and understood. Working with horses has also strengthened my appreciation for the wisdom of the body and the role that somatic awareness can play in the healing process. My relationship with Jesus is central to who I am and informs the way I approach both life and care for others. I believe healing often happens through compassionate connection and through the courage it takes to share one’s story.
My counseling approach is person-centered, collaborative, and attentive to the mind–body-spirit connection. I value honoring each person’s unique experiences and believe that individuals carry within them the capacity for growth, resilience, and meaningful change. My desire is to walk alongside others with empathy, curiosity, and respect as they move toward greater healing and wholeness.
Outside of counseling I enjoy spending time with my husband and family, taking adventures in our camper, reading a good book, being outside in nature, and playing with horses!
