Resident in Counseling

Bio

I’m Brooke, and I am a resident in counseling with Journey Counseling Ministries who sees clients in person and primarily virtually. I am also a James Madison University alumna (go Dukes!), which is where my pursuit of counseling personally and professionally began. During my time at JMU, I witnessed many of my peers struggle with mental and emotional health related to the pressures of school, social life, and family life. At the time, I received help and guidance through counseling as I worked through similar issues my peers were facing, and I aspired to offer the same compassionate and clinical therapeutic services to others.

After I graduated from JMU, I earned my master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Regent University, where I learned how to integrate psychology, theology, and spirituality to the counseling process. I am now completing my residency under clinical supervision and work with teens, college students, and individuals who are struggling with anxiety, depression, trauma, eating disorders, boundaries, grief/loss, and issues with their stage of life, interpersonal communication, and relationships. I also work with couples on attachment, communication skills, conflict resolution, trust, and intimacy.

No matter what season of life you may find yourself in, God does not intend for you to walk through your struggles alone. It’s my calling and privilege to walk alongside you, wherever you are in your journey, toward clarity, healing, hope, and wholistic well-being.
