Is Self Care on Your To-Do List, Too?
As we prepare for warmer days and the summer season, a time that tends to move at a slower pace for some, I couldn't think of a better opportunity to gently remind ourselves to make sure you're included on the never-ending to-do list, too.
As a "Type A" individual, I love prioritizing tasks, color coordinating my planner and calendar, making lists, and checking things off one by one. But as I reflect on past seasons of life, I've realized that I often forget to put myself on that list.
Maybe you're not a "Type A" person. Maybe you're someone who naturally pours into others, a Christian who loves to serve, a parent constantly caring for everyone else, a hardworking professional, or someone who just doesn't slow down. Whoever you are, I encourage you to pause for a moment and ask yourself: When is the last time I checked in with myself and practiced self-care?
Maybe self-care is taking a walk in the fresh air (without the pets or kids this time!), reading a book just for fun, treating yourself to your favorite coffee or meal, or going on a much-needed vacation.
No matter how big or small it may seem, let's commit to doing something that fills our cup as we step into the summer season.
